Licensing Your Pet
Remember to license your dog/cat yearly at the Spearfish Police Department if you reside within the city limits of Spearfish. City pet tags are required per ordinance and can be obtained by producing proof of rabies vaccination by a licensed veterinarian to the Police Administration Office between the hours of 8 am - 4 PM Monday - Friday. Cost is $5.00 if spayed or neutered, $10.00 if not spayed or neutered.
If licensing your pet is not a requirement where you reside, please have some form of identification on your pet at all times by either:
- A personal identification tag with your name and your pet's name, address and phone number
- A current rabies tag with the name & telephone number of the veterinarian clinic and number assigned to the vaccine.
- A micro-chip implanted by a veterinarian or animal shelter.
