The City of Spearfish reviews all divisions of land within the City Limits and the surrounding 3-mile Extra-Territory of Lawrence County to ensure compliance with:

• Minimum lot sizes according to the zoning of the property
• Standards for public access and utilities
• Floodplain and stormwater management methods
• Overall street system linkages
• Neighborhood design

For properties within 3 miles of a city limit line, please contact the City Planner at 605-642-1333 for the regulations pertaining to this area since they are not the same as for properites within City Limits.
