Domestic Units Garbage Collection
- All domestic units shall use a city issued automated collection
container. Residents may chose from a 65 or 95-gallon container.
- Domestic
units may select multiple, up to three, automated collection containers.
- If the container is stored outside, it shall be kept so as to protect
the container and its contents from animals. Garbage placed
in the
container shall be bagged and tied to prevent blowing during collection.
Loose garbage placed in the container will not be allowed and violators
may be penalized.
- Domestic unit users shall place the automated
collection containers in a location suitable and readily accessible
for collection by
the automated collection truck on the scheduled collection day.
Containers
shall be removed from the curb within twenty-four (24) hours
after emptied. Containers shall not be stored at a location closer
to
the curb than the front of the residence.
- Domestic unit users
are responsible for picking up garbage from tipped containers.
- All
automated collection containers have an identification number. The
City suggests residents make note of this number
in case the
container is misplaced.
- It shall be unlawful for any person
to deposit garbage in a container that is not issued to him or her
by the city.
Any
person
convicted
of violating this section shall be fined not less than
twenty-five dollars ($25.00) and the current container fee.
RESIDENTAL RATES
Residential rate for one (1) pickup per week:
- 35 and 65 gallon automated containers
$10.85/month – one container
$21.70/month – two containers
$32.55/month – three containers
- 95 gallon automated containers
$13.91/month – one container
$27.82/month – two containers
$41.73/month – three containers
Special Project/Event Containers for Residential & Commercial
The following rates shall be charged for containers used within
a thirty-day (30) period. If containers are requested for longer than
thirty (30)
days, a service fee of $25 will be charged per month until the container
is picked up.
- Container charge and one pickup
$25.00 – 300 gallon
$35.00 – 450 gallon
- Extra Pickups
$15.00/pickup – 300 gallon
$20.00/pickup – 450 gallon
