ADMINISTRATIVE RATES & POLICIES
- Requested Special Pick up Service – The City will provide
pick up service for residential customers. Customers must contact
the Public Works Office to make a reservation and payment must
be made
prior to pick up. The following items are accepted:
- Furniture, mattresses, & box springs: $10.00 (plus tax) – amount
not to exceed standard pickup load
- Appliance
- Appliances that do NOT use freon: $10.00 (plus
tax) – amount not to exceed standard
pickup load
- Containing freon - $20.00
(plus tax) – Appliances will
be taken to the Belle Fourche landfill
and will NOT be accepted at the Rubble
Site
- Truck Services – The City will provide the use of a single-axle
truck for residential and commercial garbage accounts. The truck must
be loaded by the customer and will be delivered by 4:00 p.m. and picked
up the next morning by 8:00 a.m. (weather permitting). Weekend use
may be arranged with approval from the Public Works Office. Customers
must contact the Public Works Office to make a reservation and payment
must be made prior to truck delivery.

*Mixed loads MAY CONTAIN – lumber, carpet, construction
material, and shingles.
*Mixed loads CANNOT CONTAIN – furniture, appliances,
concrete, metal, plastic, cardboard, branches, yard waste,
tires, batteries,
and/or household waste.
- Automobiles – The City will upon request pick up and dispose
of automobiles within city limits. Requests and arrangements must
be made with the Public Works Department and payment must be received
prior to pick up. The City may request proof of ownership.
Fee: $25.00 each
- Trees, branches, and yard waste–
- The City will NOT
collect these items unless specifically authorized by the City
Council.
- Residential customers may request truck service for
trees and branches only, no yard waste. (Refer to residential
truck service
use and rate policy.)
- Christmas tree disposal – The City will provide free
of charge, collection and disposal service to residential customers
with specific pick up times and dates determined by the Public
Works Department. Christmas trees may also be taken to Rubble
Site
during
hours of operation free of charge.
- Tires–
- Only tires without rims will be accepted at the Rubble Site.
All sizes $4.00 each.
- Tires with rims will NOT be accepted.
- The City will NOT
provide pickup or truck service for tire disposal.
- Used oil & antifreeze will be accepted free of charge at the
Canyon Street Shop during business hours. Oil and antifreeze
must be in separate containers and labeled.
- Rubbish, building material,
and metal – These items will be
accepted at the Spearfish Rubble Site during posted operating hours.
Fees will reflect current disposal rates and are collected prior to
disposal.
- Batteries will be accepted free of charge at the Spearfish
Rubble Site. The site operator must check in batteries.
