2 Hour Downtown Public Parking District
Section 17-332. Designation
Regulated parking spaces are those included within the boundaries of the following described area: the south side of Jackson Boulevard from 5th Street to 7th Street, the east side of 7th Street from Jackson Boulevard to Hudson Street, the north side of Grant Street from 7th Street to Main Street, and the west side of 5th Street from Hudson Street to Jackson Boulevard All parking areas, both physically on street and boulevard, contained within this area will be enforced.
Section 17-333. Markings
Lines shall be painted upon the street, designating each parking space and each vehicle shall park in such lines. It shall be unlawful to park any vehicle across any such line, or to park a vehicle in such a position that it will not be entirely within the space designated by such lines. Each block shall be clearly marked so as to indicate the legal parking limit therein.
Section 17-334. Unlawful Parking
No person shall park any vehicle within the boundaries described in section 17-332 for longer than two hours on any enforcement day as specified in section 17-335.
Section 17-335. Hours of Operation
The hours of regulation of the public parking district pursuant to the provisions of this division shall be 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. of all weekdays (Monday - Friday), holidays excepted.
Sec. 17-336. Regulation of Parking.
Enforcement of parking violations within the public parking district shall be controlled by the chief of police.
Section 17-337. Notice of Violation
When it is determined that any vehicle is illegally parked, the chief of police shall have attached to such vehicle a notice stating that such vehicle has been parked in violation of this division and the fine imposed for such violation. Thereafter, a notice shall be attached to such vehicle for each parking period violated. The notice of violation may be in the form of a courtesy warning at the discretion of the enforcement officer.
Section 17-338. Record of Violation
The police department shall keep records of all violations of this division. The records shall contain the following information. Date, time, and location of violation and license plate, make, and model of the vehicle. The record may also contain a brief description of circumstances surrounding the violation.
Section 17-343. Penalty for Violation
Unless otherwise stated in this chapter, the penalty for illegal parking under the provisions of divisions 1, 2, and 3 of this chapter shall be:
1. Fifteen dollars ($15.00) for each violation if the fine is paid in full within ten (10) days from the date of the violation.
2. Thirty dollars ($30.00) for each violation if the fine is paid in full within thirty (30) days from the date of the violation,
3. Forty-five dollars ($45.00) for each violation if the fine is paid in full within sixty (60) days from the date of the violation.
