The collection unit has 3 full-time employees who cover over 3500 residential and commercial accounts Monday through Saturday. Additional staff includes a full-time employee who fills in between collection and the Restricted Use Site.
Restricted Use Site
The Restricted Use Site employs one full-time Site Foreman and two regular part-time employees for daily operations. The site accepts general demolition and rubble. See Restricted Use Site (Rubble Site) or call the Public Works office at 605-642-1333 for more specific information.
The hours of The Restricted Use Site are as follows:
April 15th through October 15th
Open from Seven days a week 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
October 16th through April 14th
Open from: Monday through Saturday Closed on Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Native American Day
Thanksgiving Thursday and Friday
The City of Spearfish currently holds a "City-Wide Clean-up" in the spring and fall, usually in April and September, in which residential use is free at the facility. Watch for dates in the City’s newsletter as well as the Black Hills Pioneer.
