All residential customers shall use a city issued automated collection container per City Ordinance. Residents may choose from a 65 or 95 gallon container.
Residential customers may select multiple, up to three, automated collection containers.
If the container is stored outside, it shall be kept so as to protect the container and its contents from animals. Garbage placed in the container shall be bagged and tied to prevent blowing during collection. Loose garbage placed in the container will not be allowed and violators may be penalized.
Residents will be charged an extra fee for any garbage placed outside of the container. The minimum fees for extra garbage are $15.38 plus tax for a 65 gallon container, and $18.18 plus tax for a 95 gallon container.
Residential customers shall place the automated collection container(s) in a location suitable and readily accessible for collection by the automated collection truck by 7:00 a.m. on the scheduled collection day. Containers shall be removed from the curb within 24 hours after emptied. Containers shall not be stored at a location closer to the curb than the front of the residence.
Users are responsible for picking up garbage from their tipped containers.
All automated collection containers have an identification number. The City suggests residents make note of this number in case the container is misplaced.
It shall be unlawful for any person to deposit garbage in a container that is not issued to him or her by the city. Any person convicted of violating this section shall be fined not less than $25 and the current container fee.
